Super Vectorizer Pro handles more than 70 input image formats, which covers just about anything you'd throw at it. It runs on Mac OS X 10.10 and later, on both ARM and 64-bit x86 architectures.

Trace a logo

Drop in a logo image and watch the vectorization happen in real time. The app traces the shapes and exports the result as a vector file you can open in other editors.

Convert a pencil drawing

Scan a sketch, bring it in, and Super Vectorizer Pro turns the pencil lines into clean vector paths. The transparent background output keeps things tidy for layering.

Export for other editors

The whole point is getting a usable vector file out. Super Vectorizer Pro's exports are ready for further work in your usual design tools, without redoing the tracing by hand.

Drag a logo or line drawing into the app

Once you've mounted the disk image and bypassed Gatekeeper, drag the app into your Applications folder and launch it. A few practical things to do early on:

  • Open a simple bitmap — a logo or a line drawing — and let it trace at default settings first. This gives you a baseline for how the output looks before you adjust colour counts or detail levels.
  • Switch between the interface languages if you need to. The app ships with nine languages, including Russian, Spanish, French, Japanese, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. You can set it to English or another language right away from the preferences.
  • Try the skeletonization function on a scanned sketch or a handwritten shape. It reduces thick lines to single strokes, which is useful for converting ink drawings or calligraphy into clean vector outlines.
  • Export the first result as SVG and open it in a browser or a vector editor. That confirms the output format works with your workflow.

Runs on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs with OS X 10.10

Super Vectorizer Pro 2.3.3 runs on any Mac with OS X 10.10 or later, covering both Intel and Apple Silicon machines. The app itself is lightweight in terms of what it demands from your system — no heavy real-time rendering engine, no background services. It traces images on demand and writes the output to disk.

Because it supports up to 64 colours per vectorisation, you can choose how much detail to preserve. Fewer colours mean smaller file sizes and simpler paths; more colours keep the original shading and gradients closer to the bitmap. The real-time preview updates as you change settings, so you don't need to export repeatedly to check results.

Output files land in AI, SVG, DXF, or PDF format. All four are standard vector formats that open in most vector editors without conversion. The transparent background option is useful when you plan to place the vector over another image or into a layout.

A different approach from Vectoraster and Inkscape's trace

Other Mac vectorisation tools exist — Vectoraster, Inkscape's built-in trace, and Adobe Illustrator's Image Trace come to mind. Super Vectorizer Pro sits differently from each.

Vectoraster is more about creating halftone and dot patterns from images; it doesn't do the same kind of path-based tracing. If you need clean outlines from a logo or a sketch, Super Vectorizer Pro is the more direct choice.

Inkscape's trace function is free and works well for basic jobs, but it requires Inkscape itself and the workflow is less straightforward. Super Vectorizer Pro runs as a standalone app — no extra software needed — and its real-time preview is something Inkscape lacks in the same way.

Super Vectorizer Pro is a focused tool: it opens fast, traces the image, and exports. For Mac users who don't live inside Illustrator all day, that simplicity can be a better fit. The same output files work in Illustrator, Corel, or any other vector editor on Mac.

If you work with scanned drawings, logo files, or any bitmap-to-vector conversion regularly, having a dedicated app like this one keeps the task separate from your main design environment. You trace in Super Vectorizer Pro and import the result into whatever editor you prefer.

Questions after a gig

Does Super Vectorizer Pro support transparent backgrounds?

Yes, the app supports transparent background output, which is handy for logos and layered artwork.

Loading it onto the Mac

  1. Mount the disk image and run Open Gatekeeper friendly.
  2. Press Enter in Terminal to bypass Gatekeeper.
  3. Drag the app into the Applications folder.
  4. Launch the app after installation.
