Privacy and cookies
Quick version: unless you make an account, the site barely knows you exist. Here's the full picture.
Browsing
Reading needs no sign-in, and a visitor who isn't logged in gets no cookies from Torrents for Mac. The web server writes the standard request log (IP address, browser, the pages you opened), which I only look at for security or when I'm chasing a bug.
Your account
An account means the site holds your chosen display name, your email, a one-way hash of your password, plus the favourites, comments and notifications you build up. Nobody, me included, can see your actual password.
Cookies when you sign in
Logging in sets two: one to keep your session alive while you move between pages, and one small marker so you're remembered on your next visit. Nothing for ads, nothing that tracks you.
Comments
Comments go through me before they're public. At that stage I see the text, the name you post under, the email tied to the account and the page in question. Readers get the text and the name.
Notifications
Updates to things you've saved appear right here on the site. I don't do newsletters or marketing emails.
What I don't do
Sell your data, share it with advertisers, or run ad trackers. None of that.
Deleting your data
Write to [email protected] from the address you signed up with and tell me what should go: the account, the comments, or both.
Children
The site isn't aimed at children and doesn't knowingly keep accounts for them.
Changes
If anything here changes, the new version will be on this page.
