Mac music and DJ software, from the decks

Copyright notices

Torrents for Mac is a shelf of pages about Mac software, written up with my own notes. Rights holders who believe one of those pages uses their work unlawfully can email [email protected]. I write music myself, so I understand why people care about this.

What goes in the notice?

  1. Links to the exact pages.
  2. Which of your works is involved.
  3. Your name and how I can get back to you.
  4. Your good-faith belief that you, your agent or the law never allowed this use.
  5. Confirmation that the details are right and the rights are yours, or that you speak for their owner.
  6. Your signature; electronic is fine.

What happens then?

Once the notice has everything, I take the material down or switch it off and reply to confirm. If a piece is missing, normally the page links, I'll ask for it. Requests that don't point to particular pages can't be actioned as they are.

And if it was a mistake?

Reply with a counter-notice to that address: what came down and where it was, why you think the takedown was wrong, plus your contact details and signature. It gets forwarded to the original sender. Material that comes up a second time is treated exactly like the first.
